It all started with a need. Ms. Lena D. Baker, Caleb's maternal grandmother and Joshua Flournoy, founders of Primecare Home Care Services, lived alone in Estill, South Carolina. Grandma Lena was suffering from mild dementia, had vision problems and was constantly overwhelmed with everyday life. Barbara Flournoy, the mother of the founder, realized that the best decision for her mother would be to move her to Milledgeville so that she could have more careful supervision of her mother's care.
Barbara, accompanied by loving children, decided that Grandma Lena needed a little more help at home while she went to work. Grandma Lena needed a caretaker a few hours a day to support her needs when Barbara went to work. After countless interviews, days and weeks of scheduled appointments, mom accompanied by her loving children, we felt we had found the right caregiver for the task. The caretaker was affectionate, dependable, honest, punctual and professional.
We believe that this individual care provided by the caregiver we chose not only preserved the lives of our grandmothers, but also gave our family more time to make even more lasting memories. Although the grandmother is gone now, Joshua and Caleb Flournoy, their grandchildren, decided to meet the needs of other seniors in the comfort of their homes. In 2007, Primecare Home Care Services was established and began offering private payment services to the elderly and disabled.
