Many South Koreans seem to hesitate to get tested early for Alzheimer's disease due largely to high expenses.
The State Health Collaboration Agency based on national evidence said its recent survey of 1,000 citizens around the end of last year shows that 88 percent of respondents said they will take steps to cure dementia if diagnosed with the disease.
However, 69 percent said they will not take an early test of the disease because it costs between 600,000 and 1.2 million won ($ 545- $ 1,090).
