Dementia & Anger – I’m Mad as Hell – And I Don’t Know Why!

Speaker Elaine K Sanchez, and provides strategies for understanding and managing challenging behaviors related to dementia.

People with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related illnesses often show challenging behaviors. It is important to remember that the disease is in charge and that they act because of the damage that has occurred in their brains or because they have an unmet need, such as hunger, thirst or pain that they can not express.

This is the fifth and final video in the module on Problems of Sex, Violence, and Other Dementias at CaregiverHelp.com, a video-based support program that provides ideas and strategies for managing the stress of caring for people who are survivors of a Stroke, and other progressive and degenerative diseases.

Elaine Sánchez incorporates humor, real life stories and videos and slides entertained in her speeches and workshop presentations. She is a co-founder of CaregiverHelp.com, a video-based support program, and writes the caregiver's blog, "Caregiver Help, Help of the Day." Together, she and her husband, Dr. Alex Sanchez, have developed a series of online continuing education courses for mental health professionals.
